Welcome to the first ever online course on gardening that is designed to promote local biodiversity in urban areas. This course fulfills the needs of a gardener as well as that of a wild-lifer and everything that falls in between

As the cities are expanding and getting smarter, the natural spaces are shrinking and becoming fewer, we urban denizens yet could create spaces for wildlife to thrive into our small and big gardens. Interestingly metros and cities of India still host a wide range of wildlife who have mastered the art of living with us. Probably with some more help, we could retain the balance between our world and natural world.

Our online course on Gardening for Wildlife has been designed on this premise with focus on Birds, Bees and Butterflies.

Activities Offered: online assignments (6 ), Google Hangouts with Faculty (6),  field visits (3), Project work (1),  hands on activities (3) and Final exam (1)

Course Duration: 3 months (5 June - 5 August 2015)
Course Fee: Rs. 5618/- per head ( Course fee' Rs. 5000/- + Rs. 618/- 14% service tax )

This is the first online course of Ladybird Environmental Consulting (LEC). The course co-ordinator, Dr. V.Shubhalaxmi  has been a pioneer in India for  designing and executing online courses in natural history through BNHS. She has been trained in Distance Education from Boston University.
